  • The National Museum of The Gambia is right in the heart of the city. It has a range of exhibitions and is the ideal day out for history lovers.

  • McCarthy Square has fantastic colonial architecture, spend the afternoon there and soak up the atmosphere.
  • For a day trip further afield, Oyster Creek is a popular place to relax on a boat or go bird-watching. The mangroves are home to a variety of fish and birds, so take your camera!
  • The major tourist areas of Bakau and Kololi are only a few kilometres away. Spend a day there relaxing on a golden beach or get your adrenaline pumping with some water sports.
