Sensational Holidays to Stalis

The peaceful resort of Stalis is situated on the north coast of Crete, with the Dikti Mountains serving as its sensational backdrop. Looking out over the azure waters of the Bay of Malia, this sleepy town is all about rest and relaxation, but is still close to some larger, livelier resorts including Malia and Heraklion.

Stalis holidays allow you to enjoy all the best bits of a beach holiday while still being in the midst of the local life and culture. The natural landscape provides plenty of outdoor adventures, but if you'd rather laze in the sun all day, there's ample opportunity for that, too.

Things to do in Stalis

Holidays to Stalis are perfectly positioned for excellent day trips that allow visitors to truly experience the magic of the Greek islands. The magnificent volcanic landscape and breathtakingly beautiful towns of Santorini are a must visit, and are sure to provide you with memories to last a lifetime. The crystal clear water and unspoilt terrain is ideal for diving, swimming or just experiencing the closest thing to paradise.

Hills to Sea

Being a small resort, Stalis naturally merges into the adjacent areas of Malia and Hersonissos. The main stretch of sand that’s perfect for kicking and relaxing upon is Zervas Beach, which is divided into two sections. The western end is less crowded and more suited to families, while the eastern end is close to the town and all its amenities, making it ideal for those who want to explore more of the local area. The coast road is the main thoroughfare in the resort and is lined with shops and restaurants. If you’re looking at Stalis holidays as a way to really get away from it all, choose a place up in the hills where the views are spectacular, yet still boasting only a short stroll to the town centre. There are a variety of different hotels to suit a range of tastes and budgets.

Day Trippers

Stalis is a popular spot for Irish visitors, so there are plenty of Irish bars in the vicinity if you need a taste of home. There are plenty of traditional tavernas too, and a good selection of international bars and cuisine for those who fancy some variety. The resort does have a few late night bars and clubs, but anyone in search of the famous Crete nightlife should head to Heraklion for a night on the tiles.

Stalis holidays are very much geared towards families, with plenty of water sports, water parks, golf clubs and similar attractions in the general area. There is also plenty of history and culture to soak up in Stalis, but if you want a little extra, don’t forget to explore the nearby towns, too. The old town in Malia is ideal for a leisurely wander, due to its old stone buildings, flower-covered balconies and friendly locals.
